What customers say?

“ This chain izakaya is located on the basement floor of Uehommachi Hi-Hi Town. I stopped by with a friend during weekday lunchtime and ordered a sashimi set meal for ¥980, a little alcohol, and some snacks. This chain (including its affiliates) is a favorite of ours, and we've unknowingly visited all of its Osaka locations (Uehommachi, Umeda 3rd Building, Tenjinbashi 5, and Semba Center Building) (we've also been to the Sannomiya Overpass location). The food is excellent, and the alcohol is especially affordable. During happy hour, chuhai and highballs are ¥199. The alcohol content is also adequate. The pork soup that comes with the set meal is also a plus. Of all the chain's Osaka locations we've visited, this one is the best, including the staff's hospitality. ”

Recommended Menu Sashimi Platter Our signature dish, featuring a different fish species each day. Options include a three-piece platter (approx. ¥1,209), a five-piece platter, and a seven-piece set (approx. ¥798). Freshly grilled seafood Enjoy the aroma of the sea with this fragrant, freshly grilled seafood. Lunch Set Meals A variety of hearty dishes are available, including sashimi cutlets and seafood bowls. ーーーーー March 19, 2025: I planned to arrive after 12:00, but missed the 15-serving sashimi cutlets set meal. I wanted sashimi, so I ordered the sashimi and tempura set meal for 1,480 yen. It was still available. December 20, 2024: I left a little early, so I looked around for lunch in Hi-Hi Town. I snuck into a seafood izakaya. It was 11:45 on a Friday. I ordered the "Sashimi Cutlets Set Meal for 980 yen," the top item on the "Direct Market Restaurant Lunch Menu," and they had some left. Only 15 are available per day. Some people were drinking during the day, so the seats were full, and I ended up near the counter entrance. I thought there was only about half the menu, but that's to be expected. The pickled vegetables were different, but they were delicious. The chef yelled out that there were only four pieces of sashimi left. The pork soup was a little lacking, but it did contain pork belly. ”

“ My first time at Hi-Hi Town, enjoying a quiet drink by myself. A toast with a pickled plum sour! Takechanman offers a special sashimi platter limited to one person at the counter. This is a must-order! Red sea bream, tuna, octopus, salmon, and yellowtail...if you're looking for a casual drink, this is it!! I also ordered monkfish liver narazuke and pufferfish fin sake. The pufferfish fin might be a winter special! You stick the fin in the sake and steam it...the flavor really takes over and it's incredibly delicious! I could drink as much as I wanted, haha. I'd never seen monkfish liver narazuke before, so I ordered it out of curiosity. It's interesting! The monkfish liver has narazuke mixed in...a great snack! I also had dashimaki and shirako tempura. The soft, melt-in-your-mouth shirako is of such high quality that it's bound to be a real treat! The rolled omelet was also freshly made and cooked perfectly. ”

“ I was told about this place in Hi-Hi Town, so I went there for lunch on a Saturday. The counter seating is comfortable even for solo diners. The sashimi was fresh and better than I expected. The staff and the part-time girl were both energetic, and I got the impression that this place is definitely "Minami." ”

“ Even one person could easily enter! The sashimi was thick, fresh and good! I forgot to bring my phone home, but when I got there, a young staff member handed it to me. Thank you! I'll come to Uehonmachi again if it's free! (^^)> ”

“ For those staying at the Sheraton Miyako, if you cross the crosswalk, there's a place called Hi-Hi Town. If you go down to the basement level, there are tons of izakayas. It's a place where locals stop by after work for a drink. I also heard about it from a friend in Osaka. LOL. We went there on a friend's recommendation, and the atmosphere was great, and there weren't a single tourist there. LOL. There's no Korean menu, but we had Papago. Also, in Japan, you can smoke inside bars, so that was a bit difficult to tolerate. LOL. Still, the food was fresh and delicious. The staff was super friendly. ”

“ After lunch at Kamiroku... We headed to HiHi Town for a quick drink after dinner The farm-fresh market opens at 11:00 AM Happy hour until 6:00 PM: highballs, chuhai, and more are just 199 yen! The appetizers were mentaiko potato salad and oden dashi soup Both were delicious A farm-fresh specialty! For the sashimi platter, try the "Takechanman," available only at counter seats. Normally, you get two slices of six different types of sashimi, but for just ¥699, you can get one slice of each of five different types. Amberjack, salmon, bluefin tuna, octopus, and red sea bream. A great deal for a light drink. This izakaya is packed with people drinking even during the day on weekdays. ◆Takechanman (769) ◆Dried squid tempura (548) ◇Lemon chuhai (219) ◇Atago no Matsu Junmai Ginjo Hitotsu Natsu no Koi (Summer Love) (699) ”

“ I made a reservation for a daytime drink in Uehommachi! Lunch seems to be popular, as people started arriving one after another as soon as they opened. The seafood off-cuts lunch is limited in quantity, so I went for that without hesitation. Lots of seafood and lots of rice. Several people shared the rice. I'm on a diet, after all. ←Huh? We shared the lunch set and ordered a variety of extras, including dried squid tempura and rolled omelet. It was happy hour, so I think a glass of chuhai was about 300 yen. Cheap. We tried a variety of drinks, and they were cheap and delicious, so for 3,000 yen per person we were full and could drink a fair amount. It was delicious! I'll go again!!! ”
